Sunshine and Pleasure – a very good ride

Last weekend we were blessed with wonderful sunshine and light winds as we made out way around the north east of Cumbria, passing through quiet villages and post card towns such as Silloth.
In total 80 miles, the first 60 flat, with the final 20 miles giving us a nice 3,000 feet of gentle climbs affording fews across the Solway Firth. The ride was well organised by UK Cycling Events with proceeds of the entry fee going to Alzheimer’s Research.

This was the first sportive for many people, just showing that these kind of distances are possible with a little preparation and training…..even Ross got caught up the excitement, showing us his tuck position !!

More to come this year, looking forward to our mixed ability rides near Alicante in the few weeks – some welcome warmth.
ps the “Beast From the East” is now looking like a lap dog, so hopefully some good riding over Easter. Ride Safe ! Grant
